Many love the thick-cut toasted breads that accompany meals, particularly those opting for the grannery toast. Coffee enthusiasts rave about the range of drinks, especially the rich cappuccino. Staff friendliness and efficient service also earn rave reviews, as the team seamlessly keeps the cafe running smoothly, even during busy mornings. As a popular gathering spot, the vibrant atmosphere filled with chatter creates a lively dining experience.
Some patrons find it can get a bit crowded, particularly on weekends around lunchtime, which can lead to a wait for tables. The cozy nature of the café might feel cramped when fully packed. Others mention that the quieter back area lacks the brightness of front tables, making it less appealing for those who enjoy natural light while dining. While the friendly service is generally noted, busy times can occasionally lead to slightly slower response times, especially if you're in a hurry. Additionally, not all menu items are vegan-friendly, which limits options for those following a strict plant-based diet.
I've been here loads, consider this is a complete review. The food is always spot on, the portion sizes are huge, very good value for money. The food is always very well cooked, presented, served and generally is one of the best cafes I've ever been too, and I eat A LOT of breakfast. The service is always great, attentive, friendly and very efficient. I also have to mention, I've ran a pub and a hotel, so have a lot of experience with service, I've always been impressed with Alex, he just looks like he really enjoys working there, and he's always just cool as a cucumber, cutting about and doing a really good job, it's quality to see the lil dude smashing it like that, keep up the hard work and you'll fly. Love this place when I come to visit my other halves family (I live on the Wirral) Will be back time and time again

Charlie’s is an inviting cafe with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The decor is simple and uncluttered, with lots of natural light streaming in through the windows for the front tables. The further back you go, there is no windows so it’s not as bright. It can be a squash and squeeze getting between some of the tables. There are plenty of comfortable seating options, both indoors and outdoors. I ordered an English breakfast which was delicious. Bacon, sausage, egg, beans, tomatoes and mega thick bread. Had to pay extra for crunchy hash browns.
